Just the way you are. . .

Jacob's brother, Tom, and his family came over for dinner the other day. Dinner was delicious (we should cook like that more often!), and the entertainment was priceless. First Josie started singing this song from the bathroom. (Really? A five year old singing this song?!) Oh well, it was too cute. Then she wanted to put on a show for us. We absolutely loved it! We especially wanted to "stop and stare for a while." Don't you?
Shh . . .Jacob said he doesn't have a favorite niece or nephew,  . .. but if he did, it might just be Josie. =) We love that girl!

Forts Don't Got Carpet

"Forts don't got carpet!"
"They do now, hot lips!"
(10 pts for anyone who can name that obscure movie quote)

Thank you Dennis, Joey, and Margaret for your inspiration to build a fort. We did. We used no less than a combination of a dozen extra sheets, blankets, and bedcovers. We used all of our chairs, a bar stool (or should I say Bahr stool), a laundry basket, a table, and all sorts of other furniture. We used doors, window frames, and built-in screws in the wall.We even used a broom and an ironing board! We hooked the various pieces together with rubber bands and safety pins.
And our fort even had carpet! And, well, since our TV was in there, we had at least one major appliance, too!
We made it for a fun date night, with treats and everything. After crawling in, I read one of my favorite short stories to Jacob. "A Tale Tell Heart," by Edgar Alan Poe. Whoa, scary! And then he tried reading another short story to me, but . . .we started falling asleep.

That's our door.

The underside. Hey, you can even see the sun from here!
Jacob's preferred treat, of course. (Thank you Europe!)

Goodbye, then, to our FORTuitous adventure! =)
